CR_03-Hope
Large  group starts  at 7 pm (age requirement 15 years and older)
Small groups start at  8 pm (age requirements 18 years and older)
Principle 2:  Earnestly believe that God exists, that I matter to Him, and that He has the power to help me recover.
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted”  (Matthew 5:4)
Step 2:  We came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
“For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose”  (Philippians 2:13)

“Anyone who comes to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek him.”  (Hebrews 11:6)

In the first principle, we admitted we were powerless.  Now in the second principle, we come to believe God exists, that we are important to Him, and that we are able to receive God’s power to help us recover.  It’s in the second step we find HOPE!

H – Higher Power
O – Openness to Change
P  – Power of God
E  – Expect to Change
Focus Question:  What do you believe about God?  What things are you ready to change in your life?
armor-god Hope lesson

Ephesians 6:13-17 (NIV)

The Armor of God

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.  In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.  Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Rafter J Cowboy Church Youth Zoo Trip – Saturday, May 31st

youth

The trip to the zoo is set for Saturday the 31. We will plan to meet at the church at 8 and leave around 8:30. We need to arrive at the same time and purchase tickets as a group to receive the discount.  The tickets are $9 for 12 and up and $6 for 2-12 under 2 is free. If anyone can’t be there early and wants to come later I will need money in advance to get their tickets for them. The zoo allows picnic lunches and ice chests if you want to do that.  We really want families to go experience this fun time together but if you can’t make it and want your kids to go let me know Sunday so we can make those arrangements.  I will have a sign up sheet in the back of the auditorium. Please sign up if you plan to attend. You’re going to be sorry if you miss this special time with everyone.

Hope to see you there.

Testimony May

CELEBRATE RECOVERY

Large group starts at 7 pm (age requirements 15 years and older)
Small groups start at 8 pm (age requirements 18 years and older)

COME, Join Us Tonight, IT’S TESTIMONY NIGHT!!!

We invite you to join us tonight to hear a testimony being shared by someone that has VICTORY over drugs, but still struggles with mental health symptoms, rage, sexual abuse, trusting others, and an eating disorder. Come hear how 2 Timothy 1:7 relates to her life.

Principle 8.  Yield myself to God to be used to bring this Good News to others, both by my example and by my words.

“Blessed are those who are persecuted because they do what God requires.” (Matthew 5:10)

Step 12.  Having had a spiritual experience as the result of these steps, we try to carry this message to others and practice these principles in all our affairs.

“Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently.
But watch yourself or you also may be tempted.”
